Wild Island Retreat

In the Summer of 2019 we will be jetting off to the quiet, remote island of Lefkada in Greece for a yoga retreat unlike any other. This beautiful island is way off the Grecian tourist trail, in the turquoise Ionian islands. Join us for 6 days of yoga, mindfulness, meditation, sunshine, exploration and delicious home-cooked food from the heart. You will love this retreat if single track dirt roads into the mountains don’t scare you, if you’re the kind of person who won’t rush for shelter when the rain comes, if you love slow sunrises and long lunches with a lot of laughs.

Saturday 31st August - Thursday 5th September 2019

Our private, luxury villa is located 2.5km from the village of Sivota with undisturbed views across the Ionian sea to Meganissi, Kefalonia and Ithaca. Each bedroom has a private bathroom, and shared communal areas include a spacious lounge, dining area and kitchen.

Step outside and experience colourful bougainvillea, geraniums and the delicate fragrance of jasmine inviting you to relax and meditate in the villa’s beautiful garden. The outdoor living areas comprise large stone terraces, an infinity pool, BBQ and jacuzzi.

Just a short walk down the hill you will find a quiet, pretty pebble beach.

In the evenings, as the sun sets we will unwind from the day’s adventures with Yin yoga. All classes incorporate mindfulness, pranayama and meditation and are accessible to all levels.

Alastair will, as always, be cooking up a storm! Whilst we don’t stick to any regimented diets, our food is always wholesome and cooked with a lot of heart. Where possible we will enjoy fresh and delicious ingredients from the island. We will also cater your specific dietary requirements should you have any.

The thing with finding wild places is that they are usually impossible to access, and this one is no different. No matter where you fly into you will need to hire a car to get to the villa. If you aren’t confident driving or want to split to cost, let us know and we can hook you up with some the Wild fam to car share. Greece’s main airport is Athens, which you can access from most major international airports. As Lefkada is connected to the mainland you can drive from Athens, it’s about 6 hours. Or you can connect to a local flight to Preveza, which is the closest airport to Lefkada. You can also fly directly to neighbouring Kefalonia Island from London Gatwick, and then catch the ferry across to Lefkada.

We have structured these dates so that you can also explore another area of the country the following weekend if you choose to, without having to take any extra days off work.

However and whenever you choose to get here, we promise it will be worth it! Once you are here you are welcome to hang out at the villa and just relax, or you can hire a care and explore the island.
